About me

D. Scott Pokett is an award winning Naval Broadcasting Journalist, who served his country for nine years after graduating from Wayne High School in Wayne America (Nebraska).
After leaving the Navy, he went to work for Hy-Vee Grocery Stores where he spent the next 28 years as dairy manager, delicatessen manager, cheese specialist, charcuterie specialist and currently, seafood manager.
In his free time, Scott has made volunteering a priority. Earning the Ron Pearson Community Service award for more than 500 hours of volunteer hours. He is often seen working with a variety of YMCA youth sports programs and loved all the different volunteer jobs he had with Westside Community Schools, while his youngest daughters were attending.

While in the Navy, Scott enjoyed living on the East Coast. He moved back to Nebraska to end his Navy Career where he met and married his current wife of 28 years, Becky. Scott is an amazing “girl” dad, having four wonderful daughters Carleen, Rebecca, Madison and Abigail. Not to be left out, his ‘adopted’ daughter, Claire.
Always having a story to tell and with a love to entertain, he decided to finally share “Daddy’s Girl” with the world.
